UCU-MUC SPORTS GIANTS

UCU-MUC has state-of-the-art sports facilities and a good record of sporting activities. Her teams have over years won several championships and sporting Trophies.

The modern sports complex gives students and staff a healthy balance of study/work and exercise. UCU-MUC has a football pitch, netball court, volleyball and basket court. Popular sports at UCU-MUC include: football, basketball, volleyball, netball, taekwondo and many other indoor games

FOOTBALL

UCU-MUC Football team plays in the National league under the Federation of Ugandan Football Association fourth division league in the Eastern region

UCU-MUC Football club won the fifth division league in the 2021/2022 season after playing 18 games unbeaten in the league and getting promoted to the fourth Division.

The team has this time played 30 games in the fourth division league that ended on 19th/05/2023 and we merged the second on the table with 72 points.

The team is always intense training in preparations for leagues like regional zonal mini league and national leagues. UCU-MUC team has promoted players to the National team of Uganda Cranes and Mukisa Emmanuel who has played in the AFCON championship that was hosted in Egypt.

NETBALL

The Netball team is one of the most vibrant teams in the region that has won the Eastern region championships for 2021 and went to MOSH for the nation’s title in 2021.

In April, the team won the NOVICE championship in 2022 leading the Eastern region tournament. While Namapii Brenda and Kimono Rita still maintain their position in the under-23 netball national team.

TAEKWONDO

The taekwondo team won two medals one gold and one silver in the Uganda ITF championship held In Kampala Lugogo indoor stadium in 2021

The team is always in preparation for tournaments like the ITF championship 

BASKETBALL

The University team is in training to join the level-one regional basketball league and soon start their community tour this month

 

VOLLEYBALL

The university has constructed a volleyball court where the first female team managed to play in the Ngora championship and merged second in the tournament.

the team is in training and preparing for the Dr. Apori Cup that will be hosted in Kumi.

Management has also offered both full and partial scholarships to excelling students in sports.

A total of 15 trophies altogether were registered in the sports office and a gold medal in taekwondo.

The university is in the plan to complete a sports field at Nabuyonga Primary that will accommodate our sports talents fully.

We look forward to extending our victory in all championships coming since the university is fully supporting the teams.
