The management, students, and sports fraternity of Uganda Christian University are celebrating a remarkable achievement following the outstanding performance of the university’s volleyball teams in the Eastern Region Volleyball League 2025/26 season.
The university’s women’s volleyball team emerged champions of the league after a dominant and disciplined campaign that saw them secure the coveted gold medal. Their triumph reflects months of intensive training, teamwork, resilience, and unwavering determination throughout the season. The team displayed exceptional skill and consistency against some of the strongest sides in the region, earning admiration from fans and competitors alike.
In another impressive performance, the men’s volleyball team clinched the bronze medal after battling through a highly competitive tournament. Their achievement highlights the continued growth and strength of volleyball at UCU Mbale and demonstrates the university’s commitment to nurturing talent both on and off the court.
Speaking after the successful campaign, Mr. Magomu Robert, the Sports Administrator at UCU Mbale, praised both teams for their dedication and fighting spirit.
“This achievement is a reflection of the hard work, discipline, and commitment demonstrated by our players and coaches throughout the season. We are proud of both the women’s team for bringing home gold and the men’s team for securing bronze. These victories continue to position UCU Mbale as a strong force in university sports,” said Mr. Magomu Robert.
He further expressed gratitude to the university management for their unwavering support toward sports development.
“We sincerely appreciate the continuous support from UCU management. Their investment in sports has created an environment where student-athletes can thrive academically and competitively. These achievements belong to the entire UCU community,” he added.
Students and supporters turned up in large numbers during the league season, offering morale and encouragement that motivated the teams to excel. Coaches also commended the players for maintaining discipline, unity, and focus during crucial matches.
