The Uganda Christian University (UCU) Mbale University College Guild 2025/26 leadership has been commended for its dedicated service, stewardship and commitment to student welfare following a memorable leadership retreat at Coconut Beach in Busia.
The retreat, led by the Guild President, H.E. Waiswa Isaac, and supervised by the Dean of Students, Rev. Daniel Okello Nakoli, provided an opportunity for the Guild leadership to reflect on their tenure, celebrate their achievements and strengthen teamwork and leadership.
It was also a remarkable gesture of recognition and appreciation from the University College Administration for the Guild’s unwavering service to the entire student fraternity throughout the 2025/26 academic year.
During their tenure, the Guild leadership played an important role in representing students, fostering communication between the student body and the administration, and supporting activities that promoted student welfare, unity and participation in the life of the University College.
Speaking during the retreat, the leadership reflected on the responsibilities and opportunities that came with serving the student community, acknowledging that effective student leadership requires commitment, teamwork, accountability and a spirit of service.
Under the guidance of the Dean of Students, Rev. Daniel Okello Nakoli, the Guild leadership was encouraged to view leadership not merely as a position but as an opportunity to positively influence the lives of fellow students and contribute to the growth of the institution.
The retreat at Coconut Beach also gave Guild members a chance to relax and interact outside the usual university environment, strengthening relationships and creating lasting memories as their term of office came to an end.
The Administration’s recognition of the Guild leadership underscores the important role student leaders play in creating a vibrant and inclusive university community. Their service has strengthened student representation and fostered constructive engagement between students and the University College Administration.
As the 2025/26 Guild leadership reflects on its term, the University College community appreciates H.E. Waiswa Isaac and his Guild team for their dedication, leadership and service to the student fraternity.
The retreat marked not only a celebration of their leadership journey but also a reminder that true leadership is measured by the positive impact left behind.
